Description
GE VMIACC-5595 is a reflective memory switch designed to run in conjunction with the VMIxxx-5565 series of reflective memory real-time network products for GE Fanuc embedded systems. It can detect signal loss or loss of effective synchronization mode, allowing other nodes in the network to maintain operation. Due to the fact that the optical port is implemented using a Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver, only the required ports need to be filled. In addition, the switch has a combination of multimode (short distance) or single-mode (long distance) transceivers, which can save costs in small networks and optimize the system. For larger networks, multiple ACC-5595 components can be cascaded, allowing for a managed hub array of up to 256 nodes. Each port regenerates serial optical signals, eliminating issues of insertion loss and cable attenuation. Signal regeneration also reduces jitter. The RS232 port allows you to monitor and control the reflective memory network through a simple PC serial port. Regardless of the status indicator, each port can be manually forced to activate or bypass.
